FiiO has released the latest K9 Pro flagship DAC/AMP. FiiO’s “K” series has a range of desktop DAC/AMP’s and the K9 Pro is the new leader of the chain now. FiiO initially imagined the K9 Pro to feature a dual AK4499 DAC setup but due to the disastrous fire at the AKM factory resulting in the shortage of AKM DAC chips, FiiO had to redesign the architecture of K9 Pro. Still, with the shortage of DAC chips, the quantity of K9 Pro will be very limited.
FiiO has equipped the K9 Pro with the flagship AK4499 DAC chip from AKM Technologies. It is a 32-bit 4ch Switched Resistor DAC that adopts newly developed technology, achieving the industry’s leading level of low distortion and low noise characteristics. The DAC chip is paired with a high-end USB signal receiver that enables it to decode hi-res files. The K9 Pro supports PCM decoding up to 32-Bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD512 natively. It also supports MQA decoding support.
The FiiO K9 Pro is a hub for all audio needs. It features multiple audio input/output options that include RCA/Coaxial/Bluetooth/Optical/USB/4.4mm input ports. For output the device features line-out functionality via 4-Pin XLR balanced*2, RCA line-out and headphone output via 4.4mm/4-Pin XLR Balanced, and 6.35mm single-ended headphone output ports.
The FiiO K9 Pro features wireless Bluetooth (Qualcomm QCC5124) functionality with hi-res codecs support. It supports up to 96kHz bitrate streaming over a wireless Bluetooth connection thanks to the hi-res LDAC codec support. Along with LDAC, the K9 pro also supports AptX Adaptive, AAC, SBC wireless codecs.
The device also features a linear power supply for clean power management, FiiO Application support on smartphones (Bluetooth connections), and many more features.
