FiiO FT3 32 Ohm Review – 60mm Large Dynamic Driver Over-Ear Headphones

FiiO has released a new 32Ω high-sensitivity variant for its highly acclaimed FT3 open-back headphones. The new FT3 32Ω headphones house a newly-developed 60mm large-sized dynamic driver with LCP aluminum metal-plated and aluminum metallic alloy diaphragm. The FT3 promises high-resolution music enjoyment and easy drivability with the high-sensitivity design of the FT3 32Ω headphones.

FiiO FT3 features 3-way swiveling ear cups with a semi-open back design. The drivers are placed inside in an angled direction bringing them in completely parallel to the ears of the listeners. FiiO FT3 32Ω is perfect for people who would like to have a headphone with a high-sensitivity design.

The FiiO FT3 32Ω variant features a newly-developed 60mm large-sized driver unit with a high-sensitivity design. It has a 32Ω impedance rating and 110dB sensitivity, so you will be able to enjoy your favorite music on the go.

To produce true audiophile-grade sound performance, FiiO has designed the 60mm dynamic drivers for FT3 with high-quality LCP Metallic Alloy and Aluminum Metallic Alloy diaphragm. The diaphragm is solid in structure and has an ultra-thin design.

FiiO FT3 features a dual magnetic structure design. The driver has asymmetrical internal and external magnetic circuit systems that produce a powerful magnetic flux resulting in swift movement of the diaphragm coil and enhancing the output with ultra-low distortion and improved driver control.

FiiO FT3 headphones have a premium all-metallic design with premium aluminum alloy construction. It has a semi-open back design with hollow construction that helps in achieving a comfortable, lightweight, and solid build structure. Sound

The FiiO FT3 32Ω appears to be easily powered at 32Ω, but don’t underestimate it. Although it sounds good when connected to a regular DAP or cell phone, it greatly improves with additional power.

Lows

The FiiO FT3 32Ω has a warm and musical sound profile. The bass is linear and a bit lean on mobile sources, but it offers one of the smoothest dynamic driver bass experiences.

The FiiO FT3 32Ω bass has a rich and heavy texture with deep tones. The bass hits with a moderate force, making it moderately engaging in terms of slam effect and physicality. It is not too soft or too harsh on impact.

The bass offers impressive depth and extension, with a satisfying level of rumble and intensity that caters to various music genres, from electronic to metal. Only true bass enthusiasts might crave even more rumble and depth.

The FiiO FT3 32Ω enhances the warmth and fullness of the overall sound without any noticeable midbass bump or muddiness. The midbass is lively, giving drums a textured and natural sound, and bass guitars a warm and full-bodied tone. If you prefer a linear and smooth bass, this earphone delivers it in its original state.

Mids

The FiiO FT3 32Ω has a forward sound. It offers excellent clarity, airiness, and detail retrieval. The lower midrange is intense and full, giving male vocals an emotional and musical presentation without being muddy or dry. Male vocals sound deep and full, with good resolution and clarity.

The female vocals in the FiiO FT3 32Ω are emphasized and have a lot of intricate details. The instrument presentation has a slightly warm and melodious tone. All the sounds, whether it’s guitars or violins, have a very natural quality to them. The acoustic guitars sound warm, with a touch of bass, yet they still maintain a clean and clear sound.

The upper midrange of the FiiO FT3 32Ω is lively and has a strong intensity, leaning towards a bright tone. It provides transparency and a sense of airiness. The FiiO FT3 32Ω excels in extending and retrieving details from female vocals to instruments in this range.

The depth and width of the sound are quite remarkable, and because of this, you won’t feel like the sound is coming from inside your head, but rather it surrounds you. It’s almost like listening to stereo speakers.
