Shanling has released an update to the classic UA2 Portable USB DAC/AMP with their latest release, the new Shanling UA2 Plus. UA2 Plus also comes with an ES9038Q2M based circuit and included a new amp circuit consisting of dual RT6863 amplification chips. It also includes Shanling’s in-house developed Ultra-Frequency Conversion technology that brings better power management to the series. Shanling UA2 Plus primarily brings four new upgrades over the OG UA2.
Shanling has upgraded the amplification chipset with dual RT6863 amp chips. Earlier on the UA2, there was only a single RT6863. Two chips here bring better amplification with ultra-low noise floor in the background. It also affects the output impedance of the UA2 Plus. It now has lower Output Impedance Ratings than the predecessor model making it a better companion for highly-sensitive IEMs and Headphones.
Shanling has developed a new Ultra-Frequency Black Conversion Technology for the UA2 Plus. This allows the UA2 Plus to adjust its power requirements according to the working conditions such as active playback sampling rate, connected transducer impedance, etc. According to the Lab tests conducted by Shanling, the UA2 Plus brings drastic improvements in power consumption over the predecessor model making it up to 60% more efficient than the UA2.
Shanling has also replaced the 2.5mm balanced headphone output on the UA2 with the new 4.4mm headphone jack on the UA2 Plus. Most of the current IEMs and headphones use 4.4mm connections with their balanced cables making the UA2 Plus compatible with all the latest IEMs and Headphones.
